Introduction: If you are selling or showcasing your CPG products online, a clear, sharp image of your product – showing multiple sides and views – may increase sales potential significantly. In this post, guest blogger, Julie Massey, HRG’s visual assets coordinator, explains the importance of having uniformity of image content on your site.

When you think of your own online shopping experiences, what keeps you most engaged when you visit a website? In most cases it is the visual experience combined with useful content that keeps you coming back. Having consistent product images on your site makes it more cohesive, resulting in a more pleasant shopping experience for your visitors.

product imageAt brick-and-mortar locations, a consumer will usually pick up an item and read the package information – it is part of their decision-making process at shelf. Product images that include multiple sides and views of an item or searchable product information bring a shopper as close to the in-store experience as possible. Does your website include product photography that conveys the relative size and volume of products, including additional views to help online consumers make educated decisions regarding their purchases?

Our on-staff photographers are experts at imaging products. Every product we photograph is captured with the customer in mind. If needed, we photograph CPG products out of package to show what is included. This allows a consumer to see what they are purchasing. For instance, we’ll display an eye shadow alongside the applicator or show an unassembled view of a product if it is something more intricate, like a home health care product (check back for a post specifically about home health care images). Why do we take the time to do this? A product with many parts to assemble may not be the best choice for a person with no access to tools or no family assistance.

Customize PhotographyCapturing digital images of health, beauty, and wellness items is something HRG has done for decades; and it’s something we do every day, all day long. While we use specific guidelines for our internal use, we can customize photography to meet your specifications. Some of our clients have needed 360-degree views of their products, or “glamour shots” with special lighting and backgrounds. You name it, we can do it.
